Young Men of Excellence (YME) is the DeKalb Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity’s mentoring program under Alpha’s national program of Go to High School, Go to College. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities. The purpose of the program is to develop good character, citizenship and potential of youth who are on the path to academic success and college.
Ultimately, we shape our young men towards college and other professional opportunities by exposing them to different experiences in and out of their community.
The DeKalb Alphas (also known as Nu Mu Lambda Chapter) has provided service, mentoring and educational scholarships to the community and youth since 1980. The Charles H. Wesley Education Foundation is the 501 (c) (3) charitable nonprofit arm of the chapter.
